Laive is not therapy.
We say this clearly and without hesitation — because being honest about what we are is more important than sounding impressive.
What Laive IS
What Laive is NOT
Why we built it this way
Human therapy is excellent. We believe in it. But a 50-minute session costs $150–$300, requires a weeks-long waitlist, and isn't available at 1:37am when you're staring at a text you don't know how to answer.
Laive fills the gap between those moments and your next therapy appointment. It's the friend who's been through it, who knows what avoidant behavior looks like, who can tell you "don't send that" before you make it worse.
That's real value. But it's a different kind of value than what a trained clinician provides. We respect that difference.
When to seek professional support
If your relationship involves domestic violence, abuse, coercion, threats, or safety concerns — or if you are experiencing mental health symptoms like depression, anxiety, trauma, or suicidal thoughts — please reach out to a licensed professional or crisis service. See our Safety page for resources.
